Itu Wall Element

The Itu wall element is made of 100 % wool felt stretched on a wooden frame.
Itu is a Finnish word for germ, and the small sprouts arising from the surface of the element have given the element its name.

Love all this felt. Years ago Canadian House & Home ran an article featuring creating a felt rug by attaching large squares of industrial strenght felt together, onto a backing. It looked quite good. I'll see if I can find the photo sometime and post it.

That would be great! I am sure everyone would like to see how the use of felt has evolved, and how it is used in different countries. It's funny, because growing up in NYC I remember making felt in art class but you never saw it used outside of the clasroom. Now we not just see it on outdoor clothing but in the home as well. And used so beautifully! I am so glad you liked it.

Take a peek at this Finnish designer, Anne Kyyrö Quinn, she also works with felt..
